Welcome to Computers class with Ms. Mathis!
In Computers class, students learn how to use technology to think critically, solve problems, and express their creativity. Our lessons help students build 21st-century skills that prepare them for success in school and beyond.

Students explore fun and hands-on topics throughout the year:

  • โŒจ๏ธ Keyboarding: Building typing accuracy and speed.

  • ๐Ÿ’ก Coding: Creating animations and games using Scratch and Code.org.

  • ๐Ÿ“š Research Skills: Finding reliable information online.

  • ๐ŸŽจ Creative Design: Making slideshows, posters, and digital art projects.

  • ๐Ÿงพ Google Workspace: Practicing Docs, Slides, and Sheets for classroom projects.

Our Class Goals

By the end of the year, students will:

  • Use technology to create and share their ideas

  • Understand how to stay safe online

  • Work together on digital projects

  • Develop basic coding and computer science skills

Digital Citizenship

We emphasize being kind and safe online. Students learn how to:

  • Protect personal information

  • Think critically about what they see on the internet

  • Communicate respectfully with others

Our goal is to help every student become a responsible digital citizen both in and out of school.
